The purpose of Crossroads Baptist Church music ministry is to be radically intentional about making disciples of all nations to the glory of Jesus Christ. Music ministry will seek to fulfill this goal as we love the Lord lavishly and by our love expose others to His goodness. This goal finds its foundational basis in the Great Commission and Great Commandment which state that we should love the Lord God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength, and that we should go and make disciples of this same great God. The goal finds its specific basis in John 12 where Mary comes to Jesus after Lazarus, her brother, has been raised from the dead. She takes a bottle of expensive perfume, anoints the feet of Jesus and wipes His feet with her hair. The fragrance of the perfume fills the house. Mary’s act of worship results in others experiencing her love for the Savior. It is our privilege to love the Lord lavishly by filling the places where He sends us with the fragrance of our worship. And everywhere we go it is our responsibility to compel others to come to Jesus so that His house may be filled with worshippers. Where there is no fragrance, there is no worship. Where there is no worship, there is no Gospel. We will seek to fill the house with the fragrance of worship so that others may worship Him.

GOSPEL CENTERED • We will seek to center everything we do on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This will manifest itself in team members who, because of their salvation in Christ, will live, share and invest in the Gospel. This mandates that we deliver as of first importance that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.
BIBLICALLY ROOTED • We will seek to be intentionally and thoroughly Biblical. This will manifest itself in team members who, because their minds are being shaped by the Word of God, are being conformed into the people of God. It mandates that we read, memorize, sing, share, and cherish the Word of God.
SPIRIT FILLED • We will seek the consistent filling of the Holy Spirit. This will manifest itself in team members who, because of the filling and anointing of God’s Spirit, are more passionate about God than anything else. It mandates that we pray for the power of God and pursue the presence of God.
GRACE SATURATED • We will seek to extend the grace of God in Jesus Christ. This will manifest itself in team members who, because of God’s grace toward them, will include, support, disciple, mentor, encourage and love. It mandates that we serve those who are lovely and those who are not, with patience, authenticity and zeal.
MISSIONS FOCUSED • We will seek to make God’s glory known to the ends of the earth. This will manifest itself in team members who, for the sake of the Gospel, sacrifice all to make Him known. It mandates that we use the music ministry as a means of evangelization so that people of every tribe, tongue and nation might worship God.
